Woodland BIO at the 2026 PA Farm Show

We’re back home after an energizing week at the PA Farm Show—grateful, inspired, and ready to keep building a circular economy in Pennsylvania. From the WoodMobile crowds to meaningful conversations with legislators and partners, this year’s show showcased exactly why locally sourced, wood-based fuels matter for PA jobs, forest health, and climate progress.

The PA Hardwoods booth buzz: Located next to the butter sculpture and Christmas tree display, the booth hosted tens of thousands of visitors. We handed out 1,000+ Woodland BIO stickers and giveaways (plus fidget spinners and toy cars), and displayed our branded mini bike and clipboards courtesy of Laser Leaf. The balance bike is now donated to the WoodMobile—catch them at events this year to try it yourself.

Leaders listening: Great to see PA House Rep. Tarik Khan engaging with the forest products industry; all three Tioga County Commissioners - Marc Rice, Shane Nickerson, and Sam VanLoon - stopped by; and representatives Bill Dean and Katerina Coffin from the USDA visited to discuss local, wood-based energy solutions. Their bipartisan interest underscores how circular economy investments can create PA jobs while reducing emissions.

A soaring symbol of craftsmanship: We spent the week in the shadow of a spectacular bald eagle by Chainsaw Carvings by Paul and had the chance to meet the artist, Paul Waclo, for an energizing conversation about the power of wood and innovation. His journey from corporate design to world-traveling chainsaw artist captures the creativity and resilience of this industry.

Community strong: Huge thanks to Jonathan Geyer and the Pennsylvania Hardwood Development Council team for organizing and hosting. We left with dozens of new contacts and a renewed sense of momentum to bring wood-based gasoline to market for Pennsylvanians.

Can you really run your car on wood?

Yes—by turning low-grade woody biomass (forest residuals like small-diameter stems, bark, and chips) into drop-in gasoline that meets existing specifications. Woodland BIO’s process produces gasoline that works with today’s vehicles and the current distribution network, so drivers can immediately reduce their carbon impact without buying a new car or building new infrastructure. Circular economy in action

Pennsylvania’s hardwood economy already drives jobs across logging, sawmills, and manufacturing. But healthy forest management also produces large volumes of low-grade residuals that need a market. By converting these residuals into fuel and biochar, we:

  • Create new revenue streams for landowners and operators

  • Support habitat restoration and diverse, resilient forests

  • Keep energy dollars circulating locally instead of leaving the state

  • Deliver immediate emissions reductions using existing cars and stations

See the broader benefits of circularity: Supporting a Circular Economy

Why sustainable fuel investment matters for PA - Sustainable fuel investment is about accelerating practical circular solutions that work now:

  • Job creation: The construction and operation of local facilities can create 50–100 direct jobs per site, along with indirect benefits to forestry and logistics.

  • Community resilience: Local supply chains mean more predictable pricing, localized value, and stronger rural economies.

  • Forest Sustainability: Explore how using low-grade forest residuals supports forest health

Thank you, PA Farm Show—see you next year
